Details

For manufacturers of plug-in base vehicles and wheelchair accessible vehicle (WAV) converters, this guidance explains:

  • the technical criteria that base vehicles for a converted WAVs must meet to be eligible for the plug-in grant scheme
  • how to register a vehicle to be eligible under the schemes

A base vehicle is a standard vehicle that can be modified by a converter to create a WAV.

For a list of eligible base vehicles and information about buying one, see low-emission vehicles eligible for a plug-in grant.

If the base vehicle used in a WAV conversion is listed, it is eligible for the grant scheme. Converters should work with the manufacturer to claim grants in this instance.

Further information about grants for plug-in vehicles is available.
